Fear of Going to the Dentist and Treating Anxiety in Dentistry
Experiencing some anxiety in the dental office is common. Approximately 60% of people who visit the dentist say that they experience some kind of anxiety during the dental process. And almost 10-15% of the population claim that their anxiety
is so strong that it prevents them from going to the dentist at all. At Martic Dentistry, we are here to support you and your family through the dental process. We believe it is important to make every interaction a positive and empowering dental experience, so we choose to reduce anxiety triggers and move slowly with open communication through the process, respectful of the adjustment period for the patient. We allow the patient to know they have a sense of control of the process and can stop it at any time. Various types of sedation can be used throughout the series of dental appointments to reduce anxiety and cope with the triggers experienced in the dentist office.
